Module 6.4
Apply simple mathematical models & Analyze and display both qualitative and quantitative data
Participants will be introduced to simple mathematical models and analysis and display of both qualitative and quantitative data. The course consists of online lectures and a short answers quiz. The participant must pass the quiz. The participant must achieve a grade of at least 70% on the quiz to pass the module.
Module Objectives
- Explain regression and ratio estimation.
- Explain regression analysis including estimating simple regression coefficients, indicators of fit, regression estimation.
- Describe sampling, including sampling vs. complete enumeration, sampling design, sampling frame, sampling intensity, calculating sampling size, double sampling with regression, double sampling with ratio, double sampling for stratification, cluster sampling, two-stage sampling, permanent sample plots, and regeneration survey with sample plots.
- Describe sampling methods, including selective, simple random sampling, stratified random sampling, systematic sampling, systematic non-aligned sampling, and cluster sampling.
- Explain the p value and Null Hypothesis.
